The joys of French living indeed – A Saint Emilion Grand Cru bottled in 1962 and opened to celebrate young Jude’s birth.

One of the more immediate benefits of living in France is the opportunity to beg, borrow, steal or perhaps even purchase some great bottles of wine.

Saint Emilion Label

This one was a present from a friend to celebrate the birth of my son, Jude, and even arrived with authentic cellar dust covering the beautiful hand-printed label (for all of the Type junkies out there, check out the Serif font detail below – anyone know what it is?).

I won’t bore you all with tasting notes as, in reality, I’m pretty clueless in that department but suffice to say, we enjoyed it immensely. As the Monty Python punchline so beautifully puts it; “I don’t know much about Art but I know what I like!”. Magnifique!
